Toronto International Film Festival Announces Opening Night Gala

"The 31st Toronto International Film Festival opens September 7 with the highly anticipated world premiere Gala Presentation of The Journals of Knud Rasmussen.
Directed by Zacharias Kunuk and Norman Cohn, the film follows Kunuk's critically acclaimed success Atanarjuat / The Fast Runner and explores the history of the Inuit people, set in and around Igloolik in 1922.

We are proud to present the world premiere of the film, and to support the efforts of these exceptional filmmakers in their presentation of this film to indigenous communities.

Prior to its screening at the Festival, it will screen in its original language (Inuktitut) to Inuit communities within Canada and Greenland."

So this is NOT a world premiere, but merely a "White World" premiere!

(or as Kunuk referred to it, an "Outside World" premiere)
